Faced with a host of obstacles from birth, children in the Maasai tribe in Tanzania lack options for their futures. Stuck and voiceless, they have no reason to hope. But we believe every child should be free to dream, thrive, and create an abundant life full of promise. Established in 2010, Ormee Ministries is ranked near the top of primary schools in Tanzania and provides education, health and nutrition, and Christ-centered programming to help the voiceless.

Having our own herd of goats on the school property allows us to have milk for lunch and nutritious morning porridge each day! In addition, excess milk allows us the opportunity to share with women living in the nearby villages!

Educating Maasai Children
Founder Heather Wash and Chief Visionary Joseph Lemoyian Ng’ida met in 2010, when Heather and her husband visited Tanzania. Shortly thereafter, Heather, together with her husband and four young children, moved to Tanzania to serve with a mission organization. Joseph and Heather became ministry partners, serving in the northern rural bush area of the country. While serving vulnerable Maasai children, they began to dream of starting a school, an exceptional school, meeting not only academic needs, but physical and spiritual needs as well.

For many children in the Maasai tribe in Tanzania, their stories have already been written. Faced with a host of obstacles from birth, including child marriage, high costs of education, poor health care, and a sinking economy, children lack options for their futures. Stuck and voiceless, they have no reason to hope.
But we believe every child should be free to dream, thrive, and create an abundant life full of promise.
